Bio

Jasper Strik is an engineer / producer with an idealistic view on music. He is an active pianist / keyboardist, composer and arranger in the Dark Folk Rock band 'Faelwa' and "Wood 'n' Roll" project 'Stormsterk'. Jasper sees music as a channel for emotions, ideas, opinions and stories; music in the form of its origin.

For Jasper, music is more than a product. It has personal contents, which he takes into account as a producer. Every detail of a piece of music has to fit those contents. As an engineer, he looks for a natural sound that corresponds with the atmosphere of the music and with the genre. Next to his knowledge of composition, arrangements and acoustics, he is definitely not afraid to experiment.

Since 1994 he is actively involved in music. Piano and keyboard lessons lead to his interest in composition and music production. After some experience in a metal band, he started the course Music Technology at the conservatory in Enschede, a study that later on became: ArtEZ MediaMusic.

During his internship at Excess Studios Rotterdam, Jasper was exposed to the daily life of a professional recording and mixing studio. He worked as an assistant engineer / producer in the projects: Hail of Bullets, A New Dawn, The Loo, Magion and Campus. Now he is keeping himself busy with the recording, producing and mixing of bands.
